“Wow! I never looked at it like that.”
“I really appreciate having a third party point of view.“
“OH! I now see what you mean.“
“I love how you reflect back what I’m saying.”
“You helped me see how I engaged with my team and how to manage my leadership.“
Sometimes my clients think coaching is magic, and it just may be.
Or perhaps it takes a window washer. I’ve spent three decades helping mission-driven leaders have greater impact in the world, often helping make the invisible, visible. Sometimes we need a compass. Other times we need a road map. And sometimes a window washer works well.
We spend A LOT of time in our heads having deep conversations with ourselves and others, solving for “Y,” planning the next great thing, or navigating key relationships. Humans spend a significant amount of time in their brain – and it can get messy! Research tells us a human being can have 60,000 thoughts a day, and 90% of them are repetitive! WHAT?!
My coach is an amazing thought partner and magic maker. She shines light on ideas, solutions, and insights I never considered. As coaches, we operate from the belief that people are naturally creative, resourceful, and whole. When our clients can’t see through the muck or dirty windows of their big brains, it’s awfully nice to have a coach serve as a window washer to remove the “film.”
