The seasons are changing, leaves are falling, and cooler weather is in the air (in some places). Rosh Hashanah rings in the Jewish New Year and for many of us, it’s a time of transition, shedding the old and looking forward. What will we release? What will we create?

What are you feeling in this time of change:
Rest, renewal, and harvest?
Stress in ramping up for Q4 – your busiest time of the year?
Loss, letting go, release?

Or perhaps (like me) you’re experiencing a time of disruption or transition.

In the last several weeks, I’ve experienced great change. I lost a beloved mentor and guide, had an office move, dropped a child off at university, supported children moving out of the country, and got a new phone. (Getting a new phone can be super disruptive, amirite?)

Is this tragic? Nope.
Is it destabilizing and uncomfortable? For sure.

Like the whispers of nature, it’s seasonal. I have chosen to trust and lean into the change.

These questions feel supportive during times of transition:
What is asking to be noticed?
What is being asked to be released?
What is no longer serving me?
What belief must I release?
What is this disruption or release creating space for?
What might I create with new awareness and inspiration?
How can I offer myself grace in this season?

Here’s an invitation:
Pick a question from the list above – the one that resonates the most with you – and journal, meditate, or sit with it.
Notice what comes up for you. What is being called forward? What new information shows up?

If you’re brave and willing to sit with this and would like a trusted guide to help you navigate, let’s talk.

P.S.  From my heart to your great heart, I offer this poem from Elaine Montilla.

Letting Go: Wisdom from a Falling Leaf
In autumn’s quiet dance, leaves twirl to the ground,
No fuss, no fight, they simply come around.
They shift from green to hues of gold and red,
Embracing change, no dread, they forge ahead.

We humans fret and quail at life’s new dawn,
A job, a move, a change we chew upon.
We cling to past as if it holds our worth,
Afraid to trust the rhythms of the earth.

Yet change, like seasons, graces all our days,
It molds us, shapes us, and guides us in new ways.
So, let’s unclench our fists, unfurl our grip,
And on life’s ever-changing tide, just slip.

Flow like the stream that winds through the land,
Accept every twist, dealt by life’s hand.
Nature whispers secrets, soft and sure,
With every test, we grow, we endure.

Change is a tune, simple and clear,
A fresh line in our song, year to year.
Sing out, sing strong, with all your heart,
Let the breeze of change sing your part.

For in surrender, peace will find its place,
And we, like autumn leaves, will find our grace.
