How do you spend your thought energy?

First of all, what is thought energy?
It’s the mind’s power source. The design of the human mind is to think – about 85,000 thoughts a day! (I’m tired just thinking about it).

Stop for a minute and notice:
Have you watched your thoughts lately?
Where does your mind go?

Dwell. Borrow. Be.

Do any of these scenarios sound familiar:

Are you dwelling on that conversation you had with your boss or your partner?
Are you dwelling on a past situation and thinking about a re-write of how you might have behaved differently?
Or focusing on handling a conversation with someone in a different way?
Do you keep running through the presentation you gave to your Board of Directors?
Maybe you are worried about the difficult conversation you have scheduled with your employee.
Perhaps you are concerned about what might happen if you or your organization doesn’t get that grant or hit earnings this month.
What if you don’t get the job, or your child doesn’t get into college?
What if you get COVID while traveling?

Let’s break down our Thought Energy into 3 areas: Dwell. Borrow. Be.

DWELL:
Time orientation is in the past, meaning it’s already happened and nothing will change that fact.

BORROW:
Borrowing worry offers the potential to suffer twice.
Time orientation is the future, meaning nothing has happened yet, and may never happen as you envisioned (have you noticed it rarely does?).

BE.  
Be here. Now. It’s happening now. Life is happening now.

You have choice. Your awareness of this sweet, precious moment is the gift, even if this moment is hard or painful. You are fully alive in this moment. It’s real and when we notice it, we then may choose to respond rather than react. We may choose to cherish and to live aligned with our values. Or we can simply choose to be: In awe. In love. In beauty. In grief. In learning. In growing.

You can be still and know the gift of THIS moment … And THIS moment … And THIS moment.

You’ll be amazed at how much freedom there is to discover.
